Kellyville is one of the fastest growing residential areas in Sydney. It is located north-west of Sydney and roughly 36 km from Sydney's CBD. Its population has greatly grown from about 4,500 people in 1996 to over 27,000 in the 2016 census. Researchers suggest that the population could significantly increase due to the increasing number of individuals moving to the suburban area every year. This implies that the population may clock over 35,000 or more by 2026. History The history of Kelly Ville goes back to the 1800s. It is believed that this location gained its name from Hugh Kelly, an ex-convict who arrived in NSW in 1803. He owned a large land and a hotel called 'Bird-in-Hand' which was located on the corner of Windsor and Wrights roadways.
